Krasimir Tonchev is a senior researcher, leading scientific and research activities at the “Teleinfrastructure Lab”. His research interests include, on the theoretical side, large scale Kernel Machines, dynamical behavior modeling, Bayesian modeling, and on the application side, 2D and 3D facial analysis for soft biometrics, affective computing and general scene understanding from video. He has lead and coordinated many national and international scientific projects in the field of signal analysis, computer vision, reliable face and emotion recognition and ambient assisting living systems. He also participated in the development of innovative commercial products including embedded vision and image processing with a large scale volume production.
